A new series of streak and frame
cameras is designed on the base of new streak tubes. Our streak cameras are the
smallest in the world. The cameras are equipped with CCD Readout Systems and
special software.
We make special equipment for operation with streak and frame cameras:
light generators for spatial and temporal calibration, CCD Readout Systems,
and special software.
Our streak and frame cameras and other instruments can be installed in
Customer’s Laboratories and Research Centers all over the world.
In this short summary the results of application of a super small single
frame & streak camera K008* in four different branches of science and engineering
are presented.
In December 2000 this camera was used in streak and single frame modes in
Armenia for LIDAR diagnostics of Sevan lake. There were the experiments on laser sounding
of water width from the air to research the possibility of detecting and
identifying objects dipped into the water. In case of very unfavourable conditions
of registrations when the mirroring coefficient of laser energy from water surface
(angle between laser beam and water surface ~150) was very significant the range
of detection of objects (targets) in the water was 17m at a laser energy 22mJ
(tp=10ns, λ=530nm). The various interesting pictures which one can see on the
screen of PC display in the dependence from the depth are described.
In May 2001 camera being a part of a laser Doppler velocity meter (LDVM)
experimental complex was tested in streak mode under real conditions of gas-dynamic
experiments. More than 50 gas-dynamic experiments were performed. Some tasks
typical to explosion physics were solved during these experiments: the record
of velocities of the plates thrown by an explosion; the record of shock and
detonation wave-fronts; the record of elasto-plastic properties of constructional
materials. Streak camera was placed directly near the high current circuits of
solid-state ruby laser without additional electromagnetic screen. There was no
false triggering and worsening of image quality. Thanks to correction all of
geometrical and photometrical camera distortions in both of single frame and
streak modes including the light-signal characteristics and nonuniformity of
streak coefficient the accuracy of the interference lines display detection were
increased in these experiments essentially. The plots of mass velocity of various
metallic plates thrown by an explosion were received.
In July 2002 streak camera was used for studying a streamer zone of leader
in 6m long air gap at a high-voltage (3MV) setup on the testing ground of
All-Russian Electrotechnical Institute in Istra (near Moscow). High quality of
images which were received in streak and single frame modes has allowed to see
a thin spatial structure of streamer zone and to expand available data on electric
discharge in long air gaps. In particular, the anomalous big optical diameter of
a leader channel (10-20cm instead typical some cm) was detected.
From August 2003 streak camera jointed to imaging monochromator/spectrograph
MS 3504i is using mainly in streak mode in the International Laser Center in
Bratislava for investigating the processes of fluorescence in various dye-liquids,
in particular, for recording the dynamics of their spectrums. The excitation
may be produced by femto-pico and nanosecond laser pulses with various wavelengths.
Some of the most interesting results of these investigations are presented as
illustrations the possibility of K008 camera jointed to the spectrum device.
